What is Keto?

What is Keto?

It is not your another fad diet. This is a recommended diet in the nutritional journal since 1920s for people(mostly kids) with epilepsy! The diet comprises of high Fat (70%),  medium protein, minimal carbs.

Just like we have gas or electricity as fuel for cars to run, the two well known sources of fuel for our body to produce energy are

  1. Carbohydrates(Fuel) ----> Glucose ------> Energy
  2. Fats (Fuel)----------------->Ketones-------> Energy
Using Fat as fuel source by our cells results in ketones being made instead of glucose for energy source, which we measure using strips to check if our body has reached the ketogenic state.

The diet comprises of high Fat (70%),  medium protein, minimal carbs. These carbs are only from your green leafy vegetables (recommended < 50g/day). Keto being high in fat will last you for longer periods of time without snacking in between meals. Overtime you can skip breakfast and eat only 2 meals a day with intermittent fasting i.e no snacking!

Intermittent Fasting is recommended keto way with fat helping u to sustain longer......
