Average Weight : 108 lbs average over 15 years
Average Body Fat : 22% 
























I have obsessively trained 3-4+ hours/week focusing on strength training & high intensity cardio workouts, needless to say running around with kids, walking, hiking etc., ............... with familial hypercholesterolemia. Well, I believed I can reverse this genetic defect with an active life style and a diet low in saturated fat. 

I trained harder and harder and got stricter and stricter with my saturated fat intake .....i.e no fried foods, ghee or butter  etc....

With minimal change in my cholesterol levels, I was recommended a low carb diet. To me low carb meant avoiding grains so I did cut down on my whole wheat breads/rotis and zeroed on refined carbs such as pasta and pizza (of course occasional indulgence...). My grains got replaced with cauliflower rice and green leafy salads with generous portions of quinoa, beans, legumes, beets, avocados & meats.

Well I saw a big change in my triglycerides with the low carb diet, but no change in the LDL cholesterol transporter,  still a mad truck with no breaks and spilling all the fat in the blood stream...

Sugars, Sugars, Sugars....

I have a sweet tooth, so yes I got my fill of daily chocolates (I have high cholesterol not diabetes peeps...), sugar in morning teas, love my lentils(dals) & beans(red, black etc.,), love my starches carrots n beets..,  the list goes on n on n on......

Low carb & high intensity work-outs seem to be my meaningless mantra....for years, felt I had to keep at it slow & steady changes.......I didnt know any better.

There was I introduced to keto, seemed extreme and counter intuitive (a person with high cholesterol eating more fat???)...............naaaaaaaaah I will walk myself to a heart attack.......for certain.

Peeps .....I am not into any fad diets.!!

Well, I was introduced again with a proof and being desperate to not take the recommended statins, I decided to embark on this BOLD adventure.......

Lots of reading and obsessively watching Dr Berg's you-tube videos convinced me about the technicalities of the diet and the enlightenment dawned .......

Sugars are carbs....

Sugars are starches....

So are lentils.....So legumes...

So are the p's (Pizza's & pasta's)

So are the b's (breads) Carbs in starches....

Refined carbs ...Carbs in grains....(i knew that!)

NO to CARBS..............
FAT as fuel source...... NOT SUGAR
